Even though they announced they would leave Barcelona after this year's season ends, however Coach Xavi suddenly changed his decision to continue staying with the team. Recently sharing with the media, the Spanish military leader revealed the reason for continuing to stick with the Blaugrana. Xavi said:
“It was not an easy decision. At the time I announced my departure, I believed it was the best thing for the club. But the current situation has changed, I think the best thing right now is to continue sticking with the team."
“Our project is not finished yet. Currently, I feel more confident and excited. Over the past three months I have met the players andteam staff, we had an open conversation with each other. I believe in all of that, adjustments are necessary and I don't have any problems about personal or financial matters."
Xavi was appointed to Barcelona's hot seat in November 2021. Here, the coach born in 1980 and the Catalan team won the La Liga championship and the Spanish Super Cup in the 2022/23 season. Thanks to the impressive achievements mentioned above, Xavi wonc extended the contract until June 2025 with the option to activate for another year.
In the current season, Barcelona is ranked 3rd on the La Liga rankings with 70 points. Coach Xavi's team is 14 points behind great rival Real Madrid and has almost run out of chances to compete for the championship. Barca's goal for the rest of the season is to maintain a position in the top 4 to win tickets to next season's Champions League. At 2:00 a.m. on April 30, the home team at Camp Nou will face Valencia in the match of round 33 of La Liga.
